MOST Validator

The MOST Validator software is your key to finding objects that are suitable targets for MOST. It takes the math out of calculating whether your desired object is in MOST's Continuous Viewing Zone. Please click the filename below to download.

System Requirements:

  • Java Runtime (JRE) 1.5 or higher
  • Windows, Macintosh, GNU/Linux
  • At least 64MB RAM (the software is not processor intensive but this is a limitation imposed by the Java Runtime)
  • Active Internet connection (required for MOST Validator to communicate with the SIMBAD database, from which it obtains its data)

About MOST Validator:

Development on MOST Validator began in the summer of 2005 as a tool for the MOST Science Team to find new targets that were situated at locations suitable for the telescope. The software was developed by Varun Ramraj (GUI, networking, database parsing components) and Heather King (CVZ calculation and graphing component).

Current software version available for download: 2.5X
